SUMMARY

Keeps designated institutional building(s) in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties. On-Call.

Essential Duties Summary

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by proper personnel.

General Responsibilities

  • Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, surfaces, and trim.
  • Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, rest rooms, corridors, stairways, and other work areas.
  • Sweeps floor.
  • Dusts furniture and equipment.
  • Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
  • Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empties wastebaskets.
  • Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Replenishes bathroom and cleaning supplies.
  • Set up rooms for events.
  • Transports small equipment or tools between departments.
  • Removes snow from building entrances a minimum of ten (10) feet from bottom step.
  • Performs other duties as necessary outside of assigned work area.

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as a member of Business Affairs reporting directly to the Custodial Supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises student employees, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be a self-starter, have ability to work independently, and able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
