Job Description

SUMMARY

The Coordinator of Sales and Promotions at SAU Radio coordinates station events, giveaways, as well as sell commercial airtime and write scripts for advertisers, manage the accounting software and invoicing to secure funds for SAU Radio.

Essential Duties Summary

Responsibilities

  • Sell commercial spots for 106.9 HOME.fm, with monthly and annual sales goals.
  • Write and produce commercial spots for clients.
  • Create contest ideas to promote station through positive branding.
  • Coordinate all station events (including remote broadcasts).
  • Create and implement promotional ideas; executes through creation of scripts and on-air announcements, online content and in-person appearances.
  • Represent station at community events and through networking opportunities.
  • Manage radio orders and traffic (schedule daily logs and monthly reports)
  • Manage accounts receivable, invoicing and affidavits for commercial spots.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Miscellaneous

  • Desire to learn and train as on-air talent and provide voiceover.
  • Participates in radio team meetings.
  • Serves on University committees as assigned and requested.

Key Result Areas

  • Ensures programs remain consistent to the mission of SAU as embodied in the Concept.
  • Provides leadership for SAU Radio to ensure excellent team morale.
  • Provides top-notch customer service resulting in no customer complaints.
  • Meets sales goals for radio station profit and positive branding in the community.
Required Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in broadcast, communications, business or another related field.
  • Radio experience is preferred but not required with experience in sales, promotions, or other related duties helpful.
  • Sales experience is required.
  • Good organizational and word processing skills necessary.
  • Experience with Excel spreadsheets, MS Word, and Adobe Audition required.
  • Ability to prioritize, complete multiple tasks & possess good interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
