Job Description

SUMMARY

  • Networking with organizations and recruiting students for the various majors/programs offered at the Grand Rapids site. Developing educational partnerships with local corporations for student recruitment purposes. Enrolling a predetermined number of students. Establish, develop and maintain ongoing relationships with key individuals and organizations in the community. Includes evenings, travel and community involvement.
Essential Duties Summary

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by proper personnel.

General Responsibilities

  • Recruits a mutually agreed upon number of students in a defined territory.
  • Represents SAU at College fairs.
  • Visits prospective students in high schools and churches.
  • Visits pastors from churches located within the representative’s assigned territory.
  • Organizes work to provide maximum time for following-up with prospective students by phone, email, text or other personal contacts to assure campus visits, applications, deposits and enrollment.
  • Participates in calling of prospective students.
  • Evenings, travel and community involvement required.
  • Develops knowledge of academic offerings and supports systems.
  • Tracks prospective, applied, accepted, deposited and registered students through the admissions process until enrollment.
  • Participates in in-service and other professional opportunities (reading, seminars, observation of other institutions) for improving recruiting abilities.
  • Familiar with institutional philosophy of recruitment.
  • Assists with office clerical projects (such as mailings) & other office tasks, as needed.
  • Assists with other related/non-related projects, as required, and other duties may be assigned by proper personnel.

Reporting Responsibilities

  • Serves as member of the SAU Grand Rapids site reporting to the Executive Director, West Region.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This job has no staff supervisory responsibilities.
  • May supervise student workers to meet the needs of the department.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Required Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Dynamic person with successful sales or public relations experience who can network in the community to actively recruit students.
  • Experience at an academic institution desirable.
  • Self-starter with time management skills.
  • Proven record networking within and across organizations.
  • Must have good communication skills (written, verbal and listening).
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with executive-level personnel.
  • Good organizational & word processing skills necessary.
  • Experience with Excel spreadsheets, MS Word required.
