Job Description

SUMMARY

This is a full-time faculty position that reports to the Department Chair, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics. Starting Date: Summer 2018. Review of applications is ongoing and will begin immediately.

Essential Duties Summary

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach at least 24 credit hours in physics (conceptual through advanced), astronomy (introductory), geology (introductory) and supervise the pre-engineering program.
  • College teaching experience or professional experience is preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position will oversee the Physics department, including scheduling yearly physics courses, managing equipment and labs, and working with other universities to facilitate the transfers of our pre-engineering students. These responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Required Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Qualified candidates should have a PhD in Physics or Physics Education. Candidates with a Master’s degree in Physics or Master’s degree in a closely related area with a minimum of 18 hours relevant physics graduate work will also be considered.
  • The successful candidate will be able to articulate a Christian philosophy of faith and learning.
